Nintendo has confirmed that you won't be able to use Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers to buy Switch 2 exclusives.

So far, Nintendo has revealed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be able to play most games from the previous generation along with Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games. That includes physical and digital Nintendo Switch 1 games. However, the video game giant explained that some games may not be compatible.

If you were holding on to any Nintendo game vouchers, waiting to use them on Switch 2, don’t bother. The company recently confirmed the special coupons will only work for current Switch games. Who knows what the future will bring, but for now it looks like one of the best deals in gaming won’t be making the jump to Switch 2.
