One person was injured when a cement truck and a train collided Thursday in Shelby County. The crash happened about 10 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 47 and County Road 443 in Chelsea. Chelsea Fire and Rescue, Shelby County sheriff’s deputies and Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene.

Two railroad crossings are blocked in Shelby County after a train collided with a cement truck Thursday morning. The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said the collision happened at the railroad crossing on County Road 47 and County Road 433 in Chelsea.

The city of Chelsea and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office have revealed that a major crash has occurred in Chelsea, causing major delays and road closure.

Authorities in Chelsea are on the scene of an accident involving a train and a semi-truck. The railroad crossings on Chelsea Road in front of Chelsea City Hall as well as County Road 433 are closed. Chelsea Fire units and Shelby County Deputies are on scene.
