Scotts Miracle-Gro logged higher revenue and a smaller loss than Wall Street analysts had anticipated as shipments improved in the fall selling season. The maker of lawn-care products posted a loss of $69.5 million, or $1.21 a share, compared with its year-earlier loss of $80.5 million, or $1.42 a share.

Scotts Miracle-Gro (SMG) came out with a quarterly loss of $0.89 per share versus the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of $1.28. This compares to loss of $1.45 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.
