You can either propagate cucumbers from seed or cuttings. As cucumber seeds are so readily available to purchase, this is the most common option. Germinating and growing cucumbers from seed is easy, and you can grow them indoors or outdoors.

For an early crop, propagate your cucumbers from seeds indoors in late January or early February, and transplant the seedlings to your garden at least two weeks after the last frost date. Fill several peat pots with a soil-free potting mix. Poke three 1-inch deep holes in each pot near the center with a pencil and place one seed in each hole.
