The Canadian high-speed imaging system design and manufacturing company, Kron Technologies, has just announced two ultra high-speed cameras: Chronos Q12 (Super 35 sensor that shoots 2K at 2,8000FPS), and Chronos 4K12 (4/3 sensor that shoots 4K at 1,000FPS).

The Chronos 4K12 can shoot 4K video at more than 1,397fps. The recording time with max resolution is 5.5 seconds for the 64GB model and 11 seconds for the 128GB model. With lower resolutions (128×32), the camera can catch up to 29,000fps. The Chronos Q12 can shoot up to 2,782fps at a maximum resolution of 2048×2016.

No need to pay $70,000 to shoot at ultra-high frame rate anymore. The new Chronos 2.1-HD (costs $5,000) can record 1080p video at 1000 FPS and up to 100,000 FPS at lower resolutions. The video is saved to removable media in compressed h.264 or uncompressed CinemaDNG files.

The Chronos 4K12 captures 4K (4,096 x 2,160) slow-motion video at more than 1,397 frames per second (fps) and can reach speeds eclipsing 29,000 fps at reduced resolutions. At the camera’s maximum speed, the resolution drops to a mere 128 x 32.
