    Other things to note

    • To relieve dry mouth, suck hard candy or ice chips, chew gum, drink water, or use a saliva substitute.
    • If your doctor has directed you to use this medication, remember that he or she has judged that the benefit to you is greater than the risk of side effects. Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects.

    Precautions

    • Be careful not to stand up too quickly
    • Use candy or gum for relief
    • For aerosol, spray products : For external use only. Do not swallow. Avoid eyes, inside of nose, ears, or mouth. Clean and dry skin, then use a thin layer on area. Wash hands after applying. Call doctor if symptoms do not improve in 7 days. Keep medicine away from heat or flames.
    • For cream products : Do not apply to large areas of body. Do not use more often than recommended by Dr.
    • For elixir products : Measure dose using a dosing spoon/cup/syringe.
    • For liquid products : Unless MD directs, do not use in kids less than 12. This med. may contain sugar or aspartame.
    • For liquid in packet products : Learn how to correctly use this medicine.
    • For strip products : Before using tell Dr. if you have phenylketonuria. Place medicine on tongue to dissolve.
    • For syringe products : Don't use if solution has particles or color change. Caution. Review all drugs you are taking with your doctor.
    • For tablet products : Unless MD directs, do not use in kids less than 6. May make you drowsy or dizzy. Drive with caution. Reduce or avoid drinking alcohol. Avoid other drugs that make you sleepy. May cause dry mouth. Check warnings on OTC medications. Avoid other medicines containing the same drug. Call doctor if you are not getting better.
    • For tablet, chewable products : Chew medicine completely before swallowing.
