    To open the start menu in XFCE, you can use the following methods:
    • Open Settings Manager -> Keyboard -> Application Shortcuts, click "Add". In the "command" field, enter xfce4-popup-whiskermenu. In the next dialog window, press Super_L (The left "Windows" key).
    • Use Whisker Menu, an alternate application launcher for Xfce Desktop. It is the default app launcher in Linux Mint Xfce edition since Mint 15 Olivia.
    • Use the default XFCE shortcut to xfce4-popup-whiskermenu, which is Ctrl + Esc.
    • Right-click on the desktop to open a menu that allows you to start applications.
    • Use the middle mouse button (or Shift + left click) to open a list of all applications that are currently running. You can activate an application by clicking on its menu entry.
